IMO compliant marine and industrial sound signals and air horns

Chimetone Yacht Horns are carefully manufactured to give reliable service and to meet or exceed IMO requirements for leisure yacht and commercial vessels up to 75m (246ft).

This range of air horns, made entirely of bronze or brass and available in chrome or white powder coat finish, never needs tuning or calibration of any kind. All except one model uses multiple trumpets or projectors; these are carefully tuned to provide harmonics both to provide a safe and effective signal and a distinctive sound that any owner will be proud of.

Like all other air horns in Kahlenberg's yacht ranges the Chimetone models are beautifully crafted to ensure they enhance the look of the most expensive vessel. Most can be additionally fitted with an optional, clear, 360° manoeuvring light.

D-1 Air Horn

The D-1 is constructed from cast bronze and spun brass; it uses triple plating in its chrome version for durability and brilliant appearance.

Fundamental frequencies for this marine air horn are 252Hz and 322Hz and it produces a sound pressure level (SPL) of 134 dB (1/3 Octave @ 1m).

This horn is relatively miserly on air, typically 26CFM at 100psi (8l/s at 7bar). it can operate over a wide range of pressure between 100-250psi (7-17bar). It can also deal with higher pressures via the use of optional regulators.

Dimensions are 482mm x 330mm x 165mm (19in x 13in x 6.5in) and it has a net weight of 8kg (17lb).

There is an option for directly manifolded manual/solenoid valves and air strainer.

The recommended compressor unit is the Kahlenberg P449-14 Compressor Tank Kit which operates on 24V DC. other options can be considered.

D-2 Air Horn

Kahlenberg Chimetone Air Horns are designed with more than one projector or 'trumpet' to produce fundamental frequency combinations that project powerful, distinctive, musical chords. The Kahlenberg D-2 is a perfect example, as distinctive to the ear as it is to the eye.

The Kahlenberg Chimetone D-2 is constructed from cast bronze and spun brass; it uses triple plating in its chrome version for durability and brilliant appearance.

Fundamental frequencies for this marine air horn are 212Hz and 266Hz and it produces a sound pressure level (SPL) of 132 dB (1/3 Octave @ 1m).

Despite the deep and powerful tone of the D-2, air consumption is modest at 29CFM at 100psi (8l/s at 7bar). it can operate over a wide range of pressure between 100-250psi (7-17bar). It can also deal with higher pressures via the use of optional regulators.

Dimensions are 524mm x 394mm x 217mm (20.5in x 15.5in x 8.5in) and it has a net weight of 15kg (33lb).

There is an option for directly manifolded manual/solenoid valves and air strainer.

The recommended compressor unit is the Kahlenberg KA-1000 Compressor Tank Kit which operates on single- and three-phase AC voltages. Other options can be considered including a DC-powered compressor.

T-1 Air Horn

The Kahlenberg Chimetone T-1 air horn presents three trumpets in a triangular array. They are tuned to the fundamental frequencies of 375Hz, 322Hz, and 252Hz and the sound pressure level is 132dB (1/3 Octave @ 1m).

Air Consumption is 35 CFM at 100psi (17 l/s at 7 bar). The T-1 Air Horn can cope with wide variance in air pressure, from 100-250psi (7-17bar). Optional regulators can be used for higher pressure sources.

The Kahlenberg T-1 Air Horn is constructed from spun brass and cast bronze. It can be supplied in chrome or white powdercoat. It measures 470mm x 349mm x330mm (18.5in x  13.75in x 13in) and weighs 10kg (23lb).

There is an option for directly manifolded manual/solenoid valves and air strainer.

The recommended compressor unit is the Kahlenberg KA1000 Air Compressor System, which operates on 220-240V, 50/60Hz. Other options can be considered.

T-2 Air Horn

The Kahlenberg Chimetone T-2 Air Horn presents a mighty force of three large bore trumpets tuned to fundamental frequencies of 208Hz, 261Hz and 311Hz (the lower the frequency, the lower the tone of the sound). It achieves a stunning SPL of 135dB (1/3 Octave @ 1m).

The T-2 Air Horn is sturdily built out of spun brass and cast bronze ready for a lifetime's service. Triple chrome plate or white powdercoat options equally complement the low profile design which measures 565mm x 569mm x 306mm (22.2in x 22.4in x 12in) and weighs 34kg (75lb).

Air Consumption is 56 CFM at 100psi (27 l/s at 7 bar). The T-2 Air Horn can cope with wide variance in air pressure, from 100-250psi (7-17bar). Optional regulators can be used for higher pressure sources.

T-3A Air Horn

The Kahlenberg Chimetone T-3A offers the same performance as the T-2 Air Horn but is offered with the triple trumpets in a triangular configuration. It is pictured here with the optional M-300 masthead light.

The fundamental frequencies are 208Hz, 261Hz and 311Hz (the lower the frequency, the lower the tone of the sound). It achieves a sound pressure level (SPL) of 135dB (1/3 Octave @ 1m).

The T-3A Air Horn is sturdily built out of spun brass and cast bronze ready for a lifetime's service. Triple chrome plate or white powdercoat options are offered for this unit which, excluding the optional light, measures 537mm x 467mm x 476mm (21.1in x 18.4in x 18.8in) and weighs 34kg (75lb).

Air Consumption is 52 CFM at 100psi (25 l/s at 7 bar). The T-3A Air Horn can cope with wide variance in air pressure, from 100-250psi (7-17bar). Optional regulators can be used for higher pressure sources.
