IMO requirements for sound signals
The 1972 International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea ('72 COLREGS), ANNEX III, entered into force by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), specifies the technical requirements for sound signal appliances on all marine vessels, including leisure yachts and motorboats, ships and naval vessels.
All Kahlenberg products meet or exceed these requirements. Many other new and currently installed sound signals are non-compliant and might be breaching maritime law and invalidating insurance cover.
Our requirements summary sheet outlines exactly what you need to do to comply with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
